We visited Bay20 Community Centre to install a free printer for the team and local community.
One of our clients, Galliard Homes was involved in the BBC’s DIY SOS Grenfell Boxing Club & Community Centre rebuild, following the devastating fire in June 2017.
Galliard’s site team helped to deliver the Grenfell Community Project, Bay20, working with Westway Trust.
The two-storey community centre was designed as a flexible use area to accommodate the needs of the local community. From a place to go to relax with a coffee, to providing a space for children’s after school clubs and birthday parties.
The community centre had a very old desktop printer in their reception area, so we contacted Westway Trust and offered to donate a new printer to Bay20.
Adam, our Associate Service Director, worked with the team to install a UTAX 2506ci. This is a high quality colour printer which can print to A4, A3 and SRA3.
We also installed UFS software on the machine, so we can track consumable levels and supply new toner and other firmware when needed.
When speaking with the Bay20 team, they explained how valuable the new printer has been for the community. In less than a year, they’ve printed 10,000 pages.
They often get asked by local groups to help with the printing of flyers and leaflets and now they can do this from Bay20 instead of outsourcing. This saves them essential money.
