The laser printing process is far more complex than inkjet and uses heat, inkjets are simple with only a few steps. There are two main inkjet technologies: Thermal, which uses heat, and Piezo, which is Heat-Free.
Thermal uses heat to warm the ink to fire it through the printhead, Piezo is Heat-Free. It simply applies pressure to fire the ink from the printhead.
