Simon’s 2020 plans for Temple Knight

With the start of a new decade, Simon Chapman our Managing Director, tells us about his plans for the year, and looks back over the last 10 years.

How has Temple Knight changed over the past decade?

Temple Knight is officially 34 years old, and the last 10 years have seen some of the biggest changes for us. Not only in the outlook of the business but with services and products we offer.

Back in 2010, our business was mainly focussed on repairs and service. For the new decade, although this side of the business will still have a place, I can see that the sales of equipment and our Managed Print Solutions will play a bigger part.

What would you like to achieve in the coming year?

After a difficult 2019 due to instability within the economy, we’re looking to continue our steady growth model and increase our scope with the best and most affordable solutions for our loyal customers.

On a personal note, I’d like to watch as much Rugby as possible! I’d also like to see more live music, have more time on a race track and of course, spend quality time with my family.

Have you got any plans or goals for the Temple Knight team this year?

January is recruitment month. The goals are to bring in some fresh blood to support the growing business. This will be in both the sales and service departments.

What do you think will be the trending topics in the printer industry this year?

Solutions and customer document workflows. Customers will be looking for clever solutions to make their office printing more efficient and help gain control of their printing costs.

Are you changing or improving the way you work with customers?

On the service side of the business, we’d like to move towards being able to repair more printer equipment using remote software and support. For sales, we’d like to empower our customers with the best solutions to help benefit their business.

What are you looking forward to most this year?

Recruiting new people for the team, seeing our existing staff develop and helping the Temple Knight brand to grow.
