Simon started at our family run company at 18 years old, where he began his career as an Engineer. Since then he has progressed to Managing Director of Temple Knight and spends his days overseeing all aspects of the business.
We sat down with Simon to ask him a few questions about how it all began
You have been an employee of Temple Knight for over 20 years; how has the company changed?
When I first joined Temple Knight as an Engineer in 1996, we were mainly diagnosing faults and repairing fax machines. This was the main way of communicating and sending documents between businesses, as email was only just starting to be used!
As printers and photocopiers evolved so did Temple Knight as a company. From here I did a variety of Sale roles and that’s where I found my niche in supplying and maintaining printers and photocopiers. I really enjoyed going out on the road and meeting our customers as I still do today!
In 2011 I progressed to Managing Director, where I introduced bespoke and personal consultation services to companies who were looking to manage their printing costs.
To this day we not only service and repair printers, photocopier, plotters and scanners, we provide a full managed print solution to our customers
What is your favourite part of your job?
Going back to my days in sales, my favourite part of my job is still meeting clients and building relationships. I enjoy going on the journey with them to find the perfect printing solution to suit their company.
What would be your ideal day away from the office?
Spending the day at the beach at Sandbanks with my wife and two boys. I used to go there when I was a young lad, so it holds a special place in my heart.
What would your dream car be?
This is a tricky one, as I’ve always been a car lover. If I had to choose, I would say a Porsche GT3.
