Last week Adam, our Associate Service Director and Amy, our Business Manager, visited Bay20 Community Centre to install a free printer for the team and local community.
One of our clients, Galliard Homes was involved in the BBC’s DIY SOS Grenfell Boxing Club & Community Centre rebuild, following the devastating fire in June 2017. Galliard’s site team helped to deliver the Grenfell Community Project, Bay20, working with Westway Trust.
The two-storey community centre was designed as a flexible use area to accommodate the needs of the local community. From a place to go to relax with a coffee, to providing a space for children’s after school clubs and birthday parties.
The community centre had a very old desktop printer in their reception area, so we contacted Westway Trust and offered to donate a new printer to Bay20.
Adam, Amy and the team arrived on site, where they were greeted with a warm welcome from the Bay20 staff. The printer was installed in the main reception area and full training was given.
When speaking with the Bay20 team over a cup of tea, they explained how valuable the new printer would be for the community. They often get asked by local groups to help with the printing of flyers and leaflets and now they’ll be able to do this from Bay20 instead of outsourcing.
